Hi
Is anyone regularly doing appraisals for their staff.
I'm planning to do my first one for my 4 Beauty Therapists who have been working for me for 5 months.
Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to compile one?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.:)

Hi
I do know it is a good idea to have another person present, that is not related to you, such as a manager, so you avoid the -i said ,or she said- type of conversation.
And also to get both parties to sign off and date the meeting and what you discussed .Then you have an agenda for your next appraisal !

hi,
I think appraisals should be as much about their input as your own, discussing what they thought went well and what didn't. This leads nicely onto what they are going to do to change the things that didn't go so well and what you both would like to happen over the next 6 months, are there any training needs they have and how they would like to progress.
If you look at appraisals as a two way process I'm sure you and your therapists will get the most out of them :)

Good luck
