Hello

I'm starting my VQR Beauty Specialists course in January, A lot of my friends and family have been nagging me for them to "practice" on them while I'm studying, now my question is... Can I get away with charging them? I don't want to make a profit but to cover the costs of materials I'll be using and hopefully once qualified I will have a made client base.

Before I say anything, im not a beauty professional, I do hair, but im guessing its the same guidelines?

As far as I know, you can't charge unless your qualified because of insurance, but..im pretty sure its fine to ask for 'donations' to cover costs of your materials, and as you said its friends/family asking you, im sure it would be fine, I just wouldnt advertise yourself to the public til your qualified, hth hunni xxx

I wouldn't be in a rush to 'practice' on anybody unless you can get insurance to cover you for treatments. Regardless of whether it's friends or family, you need to make sure you're practicing safely.
