I work for a BBC programme for teenagers broadcast on Saturdays on BBC2. We're making a programme on young people and tanning - looking at sunbeds and fake tan - and we're currently looking for a teenager who uses, or has used tanning injections. We're keen to find out why people prefer them to other methods and what the appeal is for them. Teenagers: a resounding NO! Teens should absolutely not be using either melanotan-1 (afamelanotide) or melanotan II.

On rare occasions under 18s have visited the Melanotan.org forums (despite specific site prohibitions against it) and it has been explained to them that relative to a young person's physiology there is zero scientific research into how the peptides will affect their system (while there has been fairly extensive research with adults and more mature physiology).
