I am a brand spanking new spray tanner and i bought the Tantruth Kit from Sally's which came with the litre bottle of tantruth. I have tried it and although i like the colour, it seems to take forever to dry and i find it quite sticky. I was wondering if i could use a different solution in my tantruth machine? It says on the leaflet that i have to use tantruth solution and no other but it doesn't say why...i just wondered if it would be safe to try another solution in that machine? I would really like to try xen tan having used the lotion and really liked it although at the moment i am happy to experiment with anything so let me know what you use and what its like.

thoughts please! :)

In my opinion you have just selected one of the worst products, they were doing this BOGOF at one time. yes its sticky, and it does not fade nice.

Try something like Sienna-x and you will be miles ahead. what you want is client retention, a quality product will keep them coming back for more.

Hi Su

Thanks for responding. I have been reading up on it and it doesnt seem to be that popular and since posting my comment i have got in touch with both Sienna X and LA Tan to ask for samples which they are now sending me in the post.

Will i be able to use the solution in my tantruth machine? I have been looking at the t200, people seem to rate it quite highly on here and i was considering buying it. do you know the best place to buy it from?

I have the T200 and purchased it from WOW who supply Tantrick, they will send you some samples too if you ask here is the link to the T200 Perfect Mobile Package with Minimist T200 tantrick, tanning equipment, tanning kit,T200,hvlp [TTP002] - £255.00 : Wow Factor SprayTan, Beauty Products Spray Tan Wholesale there customer service is really good too. Its a really good machine, I don't know the one you have but I would be inclined to try one of the samples you are getting through it on a friend just to see how it goes.

Thanks Claire - i really appreciate it! being new to this business i need all the help and advice i can get! i am going to try the samples on my sister on my machine to see how it comes out.I find the tantruth stuff splats on and it just runs.not sure if its the solution or the machine - i have to stand a long way back for this not to happen.

Hmm doesn't sound ideal, I wouldn't think it is your liquid I would put it down to air flow or the like on your machine, does it have an adjuster to turn down the airflow so you use less liquid?? When you do the tan measure the liquid you use as I would think that if you have to stand a long way from your client you are getting over spray and the liquid must be coming out quite fast and using more than you need to.

Thats the good thing about the T200 you have the gun about 6 inches away from the client and you get very little overspray it all adjustable, You should be using no more than about 50ml per client and once practiced at it you can use as little as 25-30 so your liquid goes a lot further, and you make more profit, which is always good.

Make sure your gun is well cleaned as well and flush it through with water after using it and then blow air through and let it dry well.

If you want any proper help with the T200 contact either collin on here or use the link I gave you and contact them direct, you really couldn't ask for nicer people to help you.

yeah i have the adjuster as low as it will go and i still get splats. I'm not rally sure what i am doing wrong, i have to keep patting the drips with a towel. The tan seems to come out ok in tyhe end (seems to take FOREVER to dry) bu its just annoying because i feel like instead of giving a nice tan i am just soaking them to death in solution...
