Hello Everybody
From what I can gather it seems that the UK is moving towards regulating the nail industry, ie all nail persons should have the minimum qualification of an NVQ2 in nail technology. Am I right?
Aside from the practical parts of the NVQ2 ie provide a manicure, pedicure treatment, provide an extension of the nail, and provide a nail art service, there are the other units ie health and safety, promoting products to clients, develop and maintain effectiveness at work, fulfil salon reception duties. Am I right? The above items are the barest minimum that nail technicians would have to do to obtain the NVQ2.
Next question, can the non practical items be taught as online programmes by the Nail Guild? Already I see they have the anatomy unit taught as an online course. Is it possible for the others? Also the questions could be objective ie multiple choice.
I guess the practical side is already covered because there are already organisations covering the NVQ2 practical side of things...
Or have I got the whole thing wrong?
All the best~
