Hi everyone, I have booked myself into a hot stone therapy massage tomorrow evening as i am need of a pamper and i am also interested in how someone else will carry out this treatment.
Does anyone else go for treatments in salons to pick up tips and new techniques to use in their own procedures?
If you do go do you tell them that you are a therapist too?

I do!
I think its nice to recieve a treatment off of another therapist. Its also a sneaky way to catch up on the competition!lmao. I do tell them im a therapist, i think this way they give you a better treatment as they know you'll probably say something if they miss something out or do something wrong. I also think its a good way to get tips and look at it from a consumers point of view. if this makes sense? x

Absolutely, sometimes if the therapist does something I particularly like, I will use this in my treatments. It can also work the other way too in that I know what not to do!

I am really looking forward to it now, i know what you mean about being the customer rather than the therapist and i am going to tell them i am a therapist too. MMm heaven...

Hello!!!

I think its great going to other salons to have other treatment because like the others have said you can learn so much like extra things you can pick up and the best things to find out is things not to do!!!

And i would tell them that i am a therapist because also like the others said they tend to do a better treatment!! lol!! xx

Well i went for my treatment this evening and you wouldnt believe it. The therapist didnt ask me to fill in a consultation sheet or even ask me any questions. I didnt get asked if there was a particular reason why i was having the treatment or if i had any troubles / stress areas. I didnt even get given any aftercare advice either, not even to drink any water. I was totally shocked - not a happy bunny.

oh my god!!!! I think you should maybe raise it with the manager? This sort of incompetence could put other clients at risk. That is so bad i really cant believe it. x
