Using studs/3D gems with gel polish

I have just brought some nail art studs but wondering the best way for them to last with a gel nail varnish. Do you put the top coat on, put the studs on, cure in the light, another top coat and then cure? Advise please

I put the last coat on then apply gems etc then cure x

Ah okay so you don't put a coat over the gems? Thanks

Putting another coat on over the gems helps them to stay longer I find. Although I am having trouble getting larger 3D gems and decals to stay even using this method the smaller ones stay fine doing this though.

When I use gems, I apply a bit of top to the nail then add the gems. I do a quick freeze in the UV lamp to lock them down (10 seconds in CND lamp) then I top coat and cure x 2. Clients get 2 weeks out of them!
