Was wondering if anyone can help me. I am a trained Nail Tech in Creative acryllic. However I want to start doing beauty therapy or make up and waxing so I can start doing it mobile. However I am 31 and work in an office and cant afford to go to college full time and give up my job - I am from Livingston but work in Edinburgh.

Can anyone help with suggestion about my next move??

Thanks :)

You can do 1 day fast track courses in the areas you want to be qualified in just make sure that they have a good reputation and offer fully accredited certificates, hth

You could attend your local college for an evening class. This is what I did and I was 36 when I started! It took 1 year to qualify to NVQ2 and I did another year to get my NVQ3, 2 evenings a week. Well worth it and it didn't intervere with our lives to much.

Hiya,

Were not too far away from each other. Im the same as you cant really afford to go to college full time, I have looked in just about every course there possibly. I am about to go do body massage with the carlton institute in glasgow and I am really pleased so far with the customer service I have recieved. They do day courses which are accredited with the guild but if you pay a bit extra you can get the vtct qualification from them (which is what im doing) You can pay a deposit then pay the rest 2 weeks before the course. they are doing 20% off courses in may.
cjschool of beauty and holistics do courses in glasgow and edinburgh so do caledonian academy and from june they will also be doing vtct courses.

They will be at scottish beauty next week at ingilston
