Hi skin geeks!

I'm "popping over from nails" as I'm getting married on Saturday and have planned to do my own makeup. I will be going shopping for foundation, blusher and concealer (and colour corrector? Is that necessary?) and I'm just after your advice.

I seem to have oily and dry patches at the moment. I tried Laura Mercier and Estée Lauder mineral powder but didn't feel covered enough and it made my skin feel tight and dry. So does that throw out mineral foundation all together?

There's too much choice and I'm baffled!!! Your help would be appreciated!

Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding!

I specialise in wedding makeup and I like to meet with my brides around 6 weeks prior to the wedding date, so we can discuss skincare and work on any issues the bride may have with her skin to get it in top shape for the big day.

Unfortunately it is a bit late in the day really to recommend facials etc for you. It is wise not to have a facial so close to your wedding day as they can draw out impurities and you don't really want to risk encouraging any spots at this stage.

It may be best to cleanse, tone and moisturise every day, and when you go shopping ask one of the girls at your favourite makeup counter to recommend the best products for you.

Best wishes xx
