I'd take that article with a huge pinch of Salt.
Yes, there's some truths within it but it's another thinly veiled attack on immigrants. The usual guff labelling immigrants as illegals, illiterate and prepared to work for slave wages.

I recently attended a seminar on human trafficking and modern day slavery. It was run by the police, the Salvation Army and an organisation called Stop The Traffik. A definite eye opener - there are approximately 35 million slaves in the world today, yes they could be those in nail bars or car washes but they could also be the girl/boy next door who is groomed and sexually exploited and then loses their sense of worth and identity when the perpetrator 'loans' her out to his group of friends. Women are just as likely to be traffickers. The UK currently has the 7th highest instances of these type of crimes in the world. Albania has recently taken over the number 1 spot.
