My wee one used to get this alot and it was viral apparently bodies way of showing there something wrong (virally). Though when I was 18 had similar it started like that itched like mad the only think that stopped the itch was heat I stood in shower and next to fire for hours. Turned bruised looking after few days to I was mortified never got a real reason
Allergy if sine kind i was told xxxxfrom gp though

I did have something similar, GP could make his mind up if it was the start of chicken pox or not, so I had to stay off work for a week!!! Still hadn't gone, so went back and was told it was either viral or an allergic reaction, but more likely viral due to the length I time I'd had it and I has just got over a cold!
Very random, but very annoying and never truly got a proper diagnosis :( but I would take him to a walk in centre if you have one near, worth getting a third opinion, it's not a nice thing to have to put up with.

My son has had a nasty rash recently which was diagnosed as pitotrias rosea and is viral. He has had it about 6 weeks. its prob not the same, but there are so many viral rashes maybe you should see a dermatologist? x

Words of wisdom here

He has been on antihistamines - so not allergy.

No doubt they would have tried steroid cream for psoriasis or excma so ...

That narrows it down and leaves pathogenic - best off to a specialist ...

I can't really see too much from the photos but here is a link about Lichen Planus. It looks very similar and I do know it is extremely itchy. Some of the lessions may have silver or white tops to them.

Hope this helps. I'm not saying it is Lichen but looks similar. There are many forms of rashes that go with the condition so they can and do change.
