Starting Freed tonight. Where will I end up with Mr Barlow in my dreams tonight I wonder? (and hope). Simply divine. :D

I wasn't fussed on christian after the first one but fell head over heels in love with him in the second. I honestly don't think I'll ever feel love like it in real life lmao surely he exists out there somewhere?!

That said he can be.a huge arse and I'm half way thru the third one now. Most of his flaws are fine but the Things that annoy me about him are how he always has sex to avoid deep conversations and how possessive he is... But tbh I don't care! He's hot and charming and I love him hahaha

Lush lash, where and when will u be in turkey?! I will be in Antalya from Thursday pm for 1 week! My friend has lent me her copies for the week!!

Well mine wasn't waiting on the dining room table for me this morning. But, unprompted, it was mentioned that an attempt will be made to get up to Tesco at some point tonight.

I appreciate those who are not really giving anything away.

Lol! I was in marmaris a couple of years ago! It's lovely! What resort r u staying at?

With all due respect Izzi, I think you are taking the book way too seriously. If it's not for you and not your cup of tea, then fine, don't continue to read it, no one is forcing you :wink2:

There will be plenty of people that this Trilogy of books doesn't appeal to but, the majority (and talking here about people I know who are reading it or have finished reading it, which is quite a lot of people at the mo), have enjoyed it and mainly for the story involved rather than the sex side of things. It has apparently outdone Harry Potter in terms of fastest selling paperback of all time and I have only heard very few people slate it.

As for the film, who knows how they'll do it. For all we know it could be done tastefully so it's not actually bordering on porn at all. I'm pretty sure a lot of the sex scenes would be cut out and the story itself concentrated on more.

For me, the story and characters are what kept me gripped not when I could read the next sex scene. Everyone's imaginations interpret books in their own way. I personally liked the characters and whilst I would never let a man "dominate" me in that way, I still found sides of his character intriguing and charming and the relationship between them made me giggle on several occasions. Nowt wrong with that, it's fantasy as you say, take from it what you will, read or don't read but we've all enjoyed it, so are enjoying saying so and I didn't foresee for one minute that my thread would be turned into one where it needs in depth discussion.

It's just chit chat :D

Well geeks ive read all 3 books. First one had me one minute loving it next the not, as youll see from my previous posts :) By the end of book 1 i was desperate to read the second. The best way to put it was i was intrigued by the couple. Though my wiley feminist head kept fighting all the way through.

The second book really jarred my head so much so i wasnt going to read the third. However finding a free pdf for my ibooks app i read it just to complete the trilogy :)

Overall my personal take on it is its not particularly well written, at times it made me squirm, other times it made me awwwwww and at times i could of screamed at ana to grow a pair... actually the last book she got better but still i personally wouldnt have taken half the s&it she did. I think the books could have been condensed into one maybe two and by book 2 they could have lessened the sex scenes. I do feel hes too controlling in every day life and being 2012 when this books written that kinda sucks!

What i will say is my hubby was soooo pleased i read them... Though hold up we're vanilla all the way lmao.

As for the film eeeeep will it ever live up to the christian grey we have in our heads? I think theyll have to cut alot out to make it less racy, so will that lose the essence of the book? Who knows? X x x

I truly want to read this book after EVERYONE I know is going on about it. I have been onto Amazon to buy it but as mentioned there are 3 books? Can someone please advise which is the first one or send me a link so I can see which one is which :)

Thanks xxx

Hint - If your going to buy the books you will want all 3 so just order them all at the same time.

They are available in most supermarkets BUT are often sold out and they cost less than £5 each.

I think most people find Amazon one of the cheap but quick ways of getting hold of the actual books (most poeple I know get them on kindle).

Fifty Shades of Grey: Amazon.co.uk: E L James: Books

Fifty Shades Darker: Amazon.co.uk: E L James: Books

Fifty Shades Freed: Amazon.co.uk: E L James: Books

Is the fifty shades of grey the 1st one? Or should I say in order of that list ^?

Ooopppccee sorry ladies didn't see the end post!

Story of my life taking things too seriously lol! I just like to discuss things, and by the way cannot wait to discuss the non blockbuster that was Prometheus
I am enjoying this book ...but have yet to find the story in it as it is all just bits of prose linking the sex scenes together lol! I have now been informed by one of my clients that book 2 turns it all into a story so I should carry on and read it!

I still think that this trilogy is just Jackie Collins books for the noughties and we all know what turkeys the films they made out of her books were...The Stud  being the worst. Joan what were you thinking?

Although my feminist sensibilities are a bit skewiff with this book I can see why it is a good summer holiday read, maybe I do need to stop over thinking things lol".........nah that'll never happen ;)
