Hi i'm Leoh and recently on the 4th of april i had a weave sewn in by a lady who claimed she was professional, i went to the salon at the time to pay my deposit of £60 the hair in total cost me £120 and left happy that soon i was going to have long volumized hair i could dye the crazy colours of my personality, any cut a long story short on the day of my hair fitting i left a happy customer with white hair until i later on dyed it the colours i wanted. as you see here. 10154229_1415982938663852_3551244775762830199_n.jpg i then went home and got my hair dyed with conditioner based hair dye from directionz brand. after 2 days i started noticing the hair was frizzing on the ends like synthetic or a synthetic/realhair blend 10011175_1415983498663796_764443171025335098_n.jpg as you see here, now its almost 2 weeks and the hair she stated that was supposed to be real when i'm legit pulling plastic strands out 10255976_1416186625310150_417288403_n.jpg has gone very disgusting like a synthetic piece would go when brushed, i would just like to know where i stand as the person who is supposed to of been professional in what she does installs something into my own hair (sewn) poorly and says its the best hair but turns out to have synthetic fibres in but when asking for a refund or to fix it she refuses and gets aggressive with me? this is the installation she made into my hair. 11901_1416023828659763_7345654089869201184_n.jpg please help i've spoke to trading standards and CBA with i don't know what else i can do or where i stand on this situation. Thank you

There's not a lot you an do as you have clearly over done it with cheap dye.

Also, maybe you have been too heavy handed with the hair.

The Dye is conditioner based so i don't understand how its even possible to 'overdo it' lmao. i've dyed it once with vegatable oil dye directionz brand no ammonia or peroxide ONCE. hmm i came on here looking for a professionals advice not someone whos gonna criticize.

Directions has alcohols and sulphates in which are bad for extensions (I've just checked a tub I have at home for it's ingredients).

You have invalidated any guarantee you had on the hair with both the tech and the supplier by dying it, even with directions.

I'm afraid this will have to be put down to a lesson learnt.

You cannot ask for a refund as it is not the extensionists fault the hair is in bad condition. It's because you have decided to go home and colour over them with colour that is not meant for hair extensions. The installation doesn't look very good though but that could be due to you colouring it x

Well, sometimes in life you will hear things you like and things you don't.

I did not criticise you. You asked for advise and clearly are not thankful for it.

I'm suprised to hear that directions could cause this(are the sulfates/ alcohol suppost to remove a coating?), but even so I'm assuming that OP would have told the extensionist she was going to colour them since the rest of her hair was already coloured?

Cheap hair could have little bits of plastic and all sorts in it and at £120 total cost it's not going to be the finest quality. The problem you have is that any claim to a refund that you might have had is instantly lost when you coloured the extensions.

she told me it was ok to dye it because its all conditioner based, she toned these extension and overproccesed them WAY before installation. so i dont see how thats even my fault!

thats exactly what i did, and she said it would be perfectly fine but not forgetting her toning them way before installation, ive been to a hair specialist and she said noway could the conditioner based hair colour ruin it as its just veg oils? ....

Maybe just learn from this mistake. The damage has been done.

Harsh colours like these are too much for hair to handle.

I would stick with normal colours. Give your hair a rest. Highly doubt a refund as you have coloured it.

It might very well be human hair. Dolly heads for training have human hair but it has bits of plastic intermingled by accident. For what you paid it was never going to be "best quality" but every extensionist out there will say they supply the best.

Colouring extensions is never recommended by suppliers as the hair has been through all sorts of harsh treatments. For this reason no supplier will offer a refund on coloured hair no matter what you have used. Heck most suppliers won't take extensions back that you use the wrong shampoo on. You should only be washing them in sulfate free shampoo and conditioner which would help to prevent a deterioration in quality.

Sorry, but I think that you are going to have to chalk this one up to experience. Unfortunaly evan if you have bought low quality hair it is still human hair (apart from the odd strand of platic a Kristalinx explained). I think the 'quality' of the hair would be hard to quantify.

I understand that the suppliers waranty would be voided when she coloured them, but surely OPs agreement was with the extensionist who told her she could colour them (and who had already coloured them by the sound of it).

When my collegues fit extensions, I know that explaining correct aftercare is an important part of the service.

It is clear from the replies that high quality hair would be a lot more expensive, but I do feel sorry for you because £120 is still a lot of money for a lot of people.

Well you should of checked the hair before? Research goes a long way.

Obviously you don't like the answers your getting. Learn from these mistakes.

I agree the extensionist should not have told her that she could colour them without telling her that this voids any guarantee she might have had on them.

Have you spoken to her? Probably your first port of call rather than calling trading standards etc.

I think you have a right for a refund to be honest, you've been told you can dye the hair by the 'professional' which has ruined the extensions, the application is poor too, I would complain again I wouldn't be happy at all, did the dryness happen straight after you coloured them or over the 2 weeks you've had them in?

Why did she put a toner on it? Your hair wasn't blonde anyway.

I think you need to speak to her, but I doubt she'll refund you. £120 is a lot of money and that definitely won't buy the best quality hair like has been said, but it should buy hair that will last a couple of months. Can I ask how many rows you have in? It looks quite thin to me.

I've never heard of the colours you've used ruining extensions.

If you know the stylist had coloured & over processed the hair before installation why did you go ahead & have them installed??
