Lash extensions as self-employed in a salon

Hi, I have been approached and asked to work 2 days a week in a salon doing classic and Russian lash extensions, however, they are asking for 50% (they have set the rates for the cost the client pays) of what I make plus I pay for my materials. This seems a lot - does anyone else do lash extensions in a salon as a self-employed person please? Is this the going rate? Thanks.

I think 50/50 is too much. It should be 80/20 or at least 70/30. Goodluck!
