I made my own, I'm no where near a computer wizz, I just used a really plain template and added everything's my self with text etc. I go through 1&1 and pay around £17 a month :) it also lets me have a mobile version and google tagging etc. I only started last week and still loads to do like tag it in google and make my mobile version. Loads of things to add to the site. Xxx

I did mine myself and am very happy with it!

Evening, I was just wandering how long did it take you to get your website appearing on the first pages that popped up in google ???

I understand that your SEO have to be correct in order for your website to show up (but I am no expert in this field so I'm just making it up as I go along, hoping for the best)

Thanks

Basic SEO implementation (IE title tags, meta tags, constructive content etc.) MIGHT take up to 3 months to have any effect. Depends on keyword diversity and keywords being targeted. Something like 'beauty therapist london' for example you will need more that what you can do yourself to make a difference. Really depends on keyword :)

Also with videos on youtube guys. With the correct tagging etc it helps with SEO since google bought youtube.

I've been researching and debating it for so long but I ended up like quite a few others, buying a domain name and 'pointing'?!?!? it at Moonfruit to create my own webtsite (I think I have worded that incorrectly lol).

Anyway, mine is www.restandrelaxationtherapies.co.uk. In truth I think there are millions of better ones out there but although it is still a work in progress I feel that I explain what I want to say, it is neat with no spelling mistakes and it gets my point across. I am what I am and I could spend the earth trying to make everything tip top professional but in reality I cant afford it

This one is lovely, too but the one with video kicks ass! Brilliant idea. Have you done it yourself as well or you've hired someone?
All of you geeks have very nice websites, thanks for inspiration :)

Thank you! The video is still on my little page (www.lady-well.co.uk/tiptoe-nails-by-emily) but as this new website is skincare too I didn't want to hog the home page ;) I've got lots more pictures to put on there, it's a bit empty at the moment. Just waiting to do our A-Lift and Dermatude training so we can get the marketing stuff to put on there.

I made that one myself too, through moonfruit!

I had my first website through 123 reg. I also brought my domain name from them too.
I have now re-designed my website with Weebly. It looks so much better and wil be live hopefully by the end of the week x

Mine is now up and live..it's not perfect but I think it's a good attempt!

This is what I did:
I bought the domain name and hosted it with 123reg ( who already host my acupuncture site )

www.acuhome.co.uk

Bought a template from template monster that I customized.

and hey presto!

I have made my own website www.leannshairandbeauty.co.uk, I have registered it with google etc however it still doesn't come up in searches. People have mentioned SEO's but I really don't understand how to do this, can someone explain.

What are you googling and not coming up for?
If it's your website google can take a few weeks - months just to submit your site properly. For exact key terms you can look into implementing basic SEO yourself or get a company to do it for you.

Should be fairly easy to do your own title tags, H1 & H2 tags, meta tags and description.

I use wix.com. They are brill and only £9 per month

My website is www.effleuragehair.co.uk if you wanna have a look. All my photos too

I would choose professional built every time, it's a worthy investment x

Yours is fab though, if you built that yourself, it's brilliant xx

Hi, thank you so much. My husband did it, he said it was really easy too!!!

My compliments! He clearly has a good eye for design. I am not brave enough to design my own and all that seo, getting wording right would drive me mad. X

Absolutely love the video!!

Did you make that yourself?

X

Jemima :)

Thank you :) I had someone come in and film me, he wasn't happy that I didn't want my face to be filmed but I'm quite self conscious and much preferred talking over images.
