Hi all,

I always wear my nails square or sqouval and am going to a wedding in a fortnight, so am planning on doing a fresh set on myself.

And due to the fact that my onycholysis has almost gone on my "manky finger" and should be completely gone by the time I come to do my set, I thought I'd throw caution to the wind and celebrate (LOL!) by attempting to do a different shape... (Ooh, get me.) Was thinking of stiletto... But how easy are they to do?

They will prob come out oval or something... so any advice on getting that shape right? And what P&W balance you'd try to acheive?

That would be of a massive help to me.

BTW, I'll be doing tip and overlay.

Thanks geeklin's.

I have just taken a taster class and have a proper class to take in November with Anne Swain, so I can a bit! But have never scuplted a full set on myself before, plus I don't have much of a free edge to work from.

Are they easier to sculpt then?

I am not sure as I have never attempted them but I would image you were giving yourself a lot of work by tailoring the tip etc. on all ten!

It might take you ages!

I don't know - maybe geeg can help or one of the other!

Maybe look in the gallery for stilletos and whos done them and then pm that person.

ok i will try too explain what i do.
i love almonds which are not as severe as stilleto's basically i initially have equal nails plate to equal free edge (i know its out of balance) then i clip the 2 edges of the free edge with nail clippers start near the top middle and angle clippers down to the top of finger do both sides it is then so easy to file your shape.

for stilletto's then imagine dividing yu nail in thirds your nails plate 2 thirds and your free edge just over 1 third and you need to clip your edges right in the middle to get your extreme shape
