They are taking the piss out of you. Getting 60%, having everything supplied, having their nails and beauty treatments done for FREE. I guess you also provide their marketing and get clients in their seats for them too?

I would say its a mix of your preparation of the natural nail plate & being too close to the sidewalls.
Spend more time getting all of the non living tissue off the nail plate. You want it to look bare and clean, with no trace of any cuticle/NLT.
Then I would concentrate more on your acrylic...
Why don't you give her a call and ask how it is? She would appreciate the call even if everything is fine!
If it's not - agree to take a closer look when she's back in and ask her how she would like to be compensated? Not only does this make you look caring, it will make her feel valuable.
I do portfolio sets - something I want to try - I chose the length, shape, colour - everything. I discount £10.
I just think another person wearing my nails and I get my materials paid for - fills a space. when people walk past I am busy, it looks good. they don't know its a portfolio set. xxx
