Mobile Services - Charge for petrol or not?

I decided that my working area is 20miles radius from my house, sounds a lot but I"m in a very rural area! I calculated how much this would cost me in petrol and incorporated this into my prices. If I had an enquiry out-with my area e.g. a wedding, I would charge extra but I would specify this...

Dipping pot or roller wax doing mobile?

I'm mobile and use pot & spatula. I find roller systems messy to use and don't give a stable wax temperature. The pot is really easy to use mobile so long as you use pots with a lid. The Perron Rigot strip wax/empty tins for non-strip wax are ideal. They have a flexible plastic lid that you...

    What happened to these lashes?

Any chance she's used one of those heated lash combs? Although I would have thought that would just melt them together lol. Maybe she's been blowdrying her fringe a lot or something like that and it's made them loose there shape.

    Les Club des Profesionneles products?

Are you from outside the EU? Anyone from EU countries have the right to come to the UK to live and work. If you come from somewhere else I guess there might be visas or something involved. You would probably be best contacting your embassy if that is the case, they might be able to guide you...

    Les Club des Profesionneles products?

Hi there, I've used Le club des pros when I worked in France are good. I didn't know they supplied to the UK though. Regarding self-employment, setting up a Limited company is useful in certain circumstances but implies a lot more paperwork than sole trader status. I don't think you'll be...

What do you use to sanitise your instruments?

I use Mundo solution too and like MissOwen I use a tall glass jar with a screw top. Mine was a jar of asparagus but you would never know with the label removed! Oh I'm mobile too :) Mundo is so economical, you only need to change it every 5days compared to Barbicide which is every 24hrs.

    Doing pedicures whilst pregnant?

If you are uncomfortable or feel any kind of sickness/pain due to the positioning it is normal to ask for adjustments to be made. Your employer is obliged to make any reasonable changes so that you can carry out your work. Is it possible to change the set up for your pedicures? Can your...

Living with partner for first time!

My hubby and I were inseparable from about a week after we started dating. Basically he was at mine in town all week (I worked in town and didn't drive at the time) then we stayed at his on weekends. After 6-7months he decided to give notice in for his flat and move in 'officially' because it...

How to remove contact lenses with long nails?

I've never got the hang of removing lenses straight off the eye iykwim. When I first started wearing them my optician showed me how to remove them by using my eyelids lol. Sounds really weird! Use both middle fingers just outside the wet line then sortof squeeze the lids together moving to...

    Paris for the day

I lived in Paris for a few years. If you've never been then I guess you have to do the touristy things :) Although I would avoid the Eiffel Tower unless you've always dreamed of going, its too busy, enormous queues to go up. The Sacré Coeur is a must-see and the whole Montmatre area is...

    Tax year diary

You could also use a loose-leaf diary (I use Filofax) and print off the diary pages for the months that you want. I did this for my hubby's filo this year because he works to the academic year. Air x

What would YOU like this Valentine's?

For Valentine's I want to go out for lunch to our fave local restaurant. Just waiting for baby to arrive (was due last Sunday) and so long as baby and I are healthy and well enough for our first lunch out with OH I will be happy!! Told the OH we'll do lunch because I would feel bad if the baby...

    Pain relief while in labour?

I had my first ten year ago, doesn't seem that long ago! Today was due date for the second but nothing happening yet! Had gas and air for my first and don't plan on having anything more this time either. I can't stand the thought of being out of it or not feeling what's happening in my body...

    Mastectomy and reconstruction?

I read this a few days ago and thought it might be of interest to this thread. BBC News - Breast cancer: Drugs v mastectomy Basically for those ladies affected by the BRCA1 or 2 genes may be given the option of taking Tamoxifen instead of a mastectomy. I don't know when this might come...

    Pregnant-EE mobile?

My due date was today! I did extensions right through to the beginning of December. Started winding down clients just after that and didn't have any EE bookings. I would have continued doing them though if I had. Didn't have any problems with them. Waxing has been much worse on my back...

Where can I buy this grey foam from?

Lool as an ex-World of Warcraft addict this really made me laugh Tomme! Thank goodness everything can be downloaded nowadays and I don't have to worry about scratched disks!! Games Workshop and the like will probably stock these but I would think at a premium price! Us geeks have expensive...

Wedding cheats, tips and money savers?

My biggest tip would be don't limit yourself to 'traditional' wedding venues! All those hotels with wedding coordinators look the same and charge you a fortune for it! We booked a village hall in a beautiful loch-side village with permission to use the village green next to the loch for £445...

Things that make you go hmmm?

I would think the best way to get confirmation of this would be to contact your insurer directly. I know that mine covers me for any place of work in the UK but it probably varies. On another note I wanted to reply to say that the client base that 'you' have built during your employment is...

    SP lash strips

I use a silicone pad that I got from lash base. If I do pull several lashes off by mistake then I just plonk them on the pad. They stay standing up like on the strip and I can use them all without loosing any. It's also great if you do like loose lashes because they stand up on the pad, you...

Tanning lotion - not spray tan

Sienna X does a lotion tan as well and they don't have a minimum opening order like Fake Bake. You can get them direct or through Ellison's. Crazy Angel lotions are in Capital. There are some wholesaler brands too but I personally don't rate them. HTH Air x
