Well based on the information provided, it seems this is aimed purely at female pupils, good skin care is relevant to both genders. Most girls in that age group will be wearing make up etc as you state but I'm not convinced that an educational institution is an appropriate forum to be promoting...

I would notify the insurance company/ professional organisation for advice. It doesn't sit right with me that she wouldn't come back to the salon, didn't contact you until all her lashes were out. Didn't seek further aftercare/ advice from you and now hasn't sent a picture.

I believe if you incurred a related expense in the 7 years prior to starting trading you can offset the cost against your tax, this might be worth checking into.
