    Best shampoo & conditioner?

I love Kerastase and find a lot of clients I recommend it to end up sticking with it! Redken is lovely too. My last salon was a Philip Kingsley salon and their products are gorgeous too - similar in price to Kerastase. I would say Philip Kingsley take more of a no fuss clinical approach whereas...

    Thinning hair?

The Philip Kingsley Trichotherapy regime is very good and I’ve seen clients get fuller and thicker looking hair that blow dries easier and seems to grow to its full potential. It’s quite expensive but worth it in my opinion.

GHD or Cloud 9 for long thick hair?

Another vote for cloud 9 here - I recommend them a lot and my clients always comment on how they glide through the hair and feel lovely to use.

Recommendations on a good hair mask or deep conditioner?

Another vote for Philip Kingsley Elasticizer here - hero product! A friend of mine works from a salon in her home and is a registered Philip Kingsley salon, I’ve met her rep and heard about the courses she’s been on at their London clinic, they’re a fab company to do business with.

Re-doing bleach roots on extra short hair, help!

The first thing that springs to mind for me is that those short areas can be really prone to drying out quickly, so reapplying as suggested above is key to keep the product working and get a lovely lift. This always happens with my own hair, I reapply about 3 or 4 times x

Does a highlift tint work on white/grey hair?

I don’t think you’ll get a very good coverage using 12% with your 10/0 to be honest. How would you describe this lady’s white areas, does she just have a few greys that need blending away, or does she have lots of white hair that needs proper coverage? If she needs real coverage then you could...

Does a highlift tint work on white/grey hair?

Personally I’ve always found high lift tints, mixed with 12% as usual, can give a good result over grey/white, but it depends on the white percentage and how evenly it’s distributed throughout the head. Let’s say for example that someone is naturally a level 7 but has the beginnings of white...

    Flaky scalp

Philip Kingsley Flaky Itchy Scalp shampoo has a fantastic reputation and is safe to use on coloured hair too, and any hair texture.

Do any colorists out there have a plan to keep blonde healthy?

Also I know you mentioned about demarcation lines, but a lot of the time you’d be surprised at how well everything blends together if you’re weaving finely and just feathering gently into any darker areas left over from last time 😁

Do any colorists out there have a plan to keep blonde healthy?

Glad to help 💙 also don’t beat yourself up - sometimes it’s okay to use your judgement and carefully overlap onto a healthy section of hair that’s not quite light enough or has a bit of a band! That’s alright, just make sure not to overlap onto any hair that’s already lovely and light, and do...

Do any colorists out there have a plan to keep blonde healthy?

Totally agree with everyone - Olaplex is a huge help! Also, is your client using a lovely moisturising professional shampoo and conditioner? My blonde clients who take my suggestion of using something like Kérastase, Redken, Philip Kingsley, or similar high quality brands do reap the benefits...

    Fiberplex?

But how have Schwarzkopf been allowed to use the same ingredient to create virtually the same product?

    I made someone cry today

Don't let it get you down! These things happen to all of us, we have all made mistakes - even those at the top of their game! So to address the bleeds issue, the best advice I can offer, which has worked really well for me, is to make sure you're not saturating the hair with too much bleach...

    Help achieving this colour

Try some strand tests with lightener and 1.9%, 3%, 6% and see if anything will lift her hair without severely compromising it. You'd need to be very careful of those highlights she's been having though - if the strand tests indicate that you can go ahead with this process then I'd be tempted to...

    Help achieving this colour

As cam suggested, Olaplex would be very helpful here to keep the hair strong. The picture she's aiming to achieve is a full head of bleach and a toner, so you'd be looking at a colour correction kind of process - creating a totally even base to work on, then lightening it all to a true clean...

Mixing Olaplex with platinium and meches

Ok, so a 1/4 ounce per 30g platinium? And the same for meches but it's the mass of the cream and powder without developer?

    Fiberplex?

One of the big salons by me is doing this - they started at £20 introductory rate then put it up to £30. I'm working from home at the moment but my clients have been pretty keen to try it so not had any problems with the price as they know what a premium service it is and they feel the results...

Mixing Olaplex with platinium and meches

Hi guys, I'm using Olaplex on a couple of clients next week, one lady has the wella meches highlighting system - how much Olaplex should I use with this? I use half a tube of the cream with one of the sachets. The other lady has L'Oreal Platinium - how much Olaplex should I use with this? As...
