Hello to all you beauty girlies (and Boys) out there,

I recently did a course in spray tanning with fake bake and loved it. I did it in Scotland and the trainer Lisa was fanstastic! You could tell she loved her job and knew her stuff and rubbed off on everone else she has an infectious personality to match. I can't wait to get started now. I have ordered my equipment and i am patiently waitng for City link to get back me......

I have a few questions really.

How many Spray tans do you do in an average week and also how much do you charge. How long did you practice for and how many guinea pigs did you spray before actually started to charge? I know it will be different for everyone but i just wanted to see roughly how many you did before you felt confident to do it.

I am looking at doing a few pamper packages for the winter and would like some advice on what treatments you would recommend to offer in the packages.

Sorry for the overload of question lol.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Cheryl xx:)

Hi Cheryl, I'm a mobile spray tanner, having done my Fake Bake training (in London) in September. Like you, I loved the training and thought the trainer Lauren was great.
I sprayed 4 volunteers before accepting my first proper paying customer. Although I've not had any complaints, to be honest I very cheekily think that perhaps I should have had a few more trials before I let myself loose on the paying public!
Now though, two months into it, I'm 100% confident in my spray tan ability and service and have taken on board various pieces of advice from this (and another) on-line forum. I'm still building up my clientele and hopefully over the next few months will get to where I want to be.
Please keep us updated with your progress. Caz x:)

Cheryl...well done on completing your training.

Unfortunately there are no set timescales from completion of training to setting off as a going concern charging full rates for spray tan's as were all different.

So much is dependant on your own rate of learning ,the amount of practise you can get under your belt without overload .

initially your fist few tans you will be nervouse..once you have gotten over these initial nerves you will probably start to charge a lesser amount for your initial commercial applications..again you will be nervouse...then onto full price charging..again nerves followed by confidence as you learn how to either instruct your client as to how/when to move etc and how to deal with the inevitable mistakes we all will make.

Basically...you will know yourself when your ready but just emember...your customers will come along to you and will be under the impression you are an expert ...so be confident and act like a pro...dont keep apologising etc and "take control"...if your confident your customer will feel at ease and confident about you..and so it goes on
