Hi all,
Can an illness like persistent Diarrhoea cause major liftage ? I'm really not too well at the moment and I've noticed that a couple if my nails have lifted to halfway down.

Please don't suggest it's my prep or anything because I've been doing nails for 12 yrs and this has never happened before

Deb x

many illnesses can affect nails but so can medication. If you're on any new meds this could be the issue. Hope you feel better soon!

Yes, illness can.

Medications
Diet
Nail plate condition , etc etc. All these can cause lifting!!

If you've had diarreah (sp?) for a long time your body will be very dehydrated, so it makes sense your nails will be dehydrated too. Have you seen the doctor? I've had a similar problem for the last year and my doctor has referred me to the "bum doctor" haha (sorry dont know the technical term for that type of specialist!)

Hi yes I've seen the doctor, I picked the bug up in Turkey 2.5 weeks ago and it's worse since being home 😞
She took a stool sample and I'm waiting for the results.
A bit pee'd off because I've had to cancel 25 ladies this week......where on earth am I going to put them ??

I know how you feel, I had to cancel a weeks worth of clients a couple of weeks ago because of illness. Fortunately I've only just started working in the salon so my appointment book had enough spaces to re book everyone. If you have a full appointment book and cant rebook them what about working a couple of your usual days off just to catch up once you're better? A bit crap having to give up your days off I know but its a temp solution and keeps your clients happy

I'm going to work the whole weekend if I have to, plus luckily next week isn't as busy so I can fit them in there.
I actually managed a whole nights sleep last night without running to the loo so fingers crossed :)
