sorry if someone else has already asked this but I'm really not too good with computers!!
I need a bit of advice! :(
I did a course in acrylic nails about 3 years ago, never used it professionally as I got a different job, but became self employed last year as a beautician/holistic therapist and re-trained. When I re trained I was told my nails were good but never had clients return for in fills, although the look of the nails afterwards was good and they seemed happy.
I have since found out that my nails are coming off, so I had a word with a lady I know who also does extensions and she gave me a few ideas, I was blending the tips through with acetone which she advised me not to do and also using a primer pen, she advised me to use a liquid primer and also not to use too much sanitizing spray.
I started a new job yesterday and the salons main income is quite clearly nail extensions, I was booked in on my first day to do 6 back to back sets and an hour to do each, I was also totally on my own. I managed to do the nails but just after I finished my day I had a phone call from my first client saying the nails were "bendy" and coming off already. As I have put some nails on myself and they havent come off me I can't understand what I am doing wrong and am very upset and stressed out as the girl I have just taken over from at the salon was sacked because her nails kept coming off and we are in the same area as nails 4 u/american nails etc so we have to be good.
If anyone could offer me any advice it would be very very much appreciated!

xxx

Hi Rach sorry to hear your having problems .... what system are you using is it different to the one you trained with ? Are you just doing clear blended tips or sculpted ? What is your routine regards to prep and application? xxx

I know you're not going to want to hear this, but I really think you could do with some more training.

There could be a number of things that you may be doing wrong and I think you would feel so much more confident if you did another course to update your skills.

I am 8 years in the business and still experience problems and education is so important. I've done five different courses and still need to learn more:hug:

First of all, asking you to do full sets of nails in an hour is unrealistic and you were rushing it.

2nd you are inexperienced and need more training and pronto.

3rd it may even be the products you are being asked to use are letting you down.

Whatever ... the current situation cannot go on and you have to do something about it and fast.

Thank you for your replies, I am going to contact the lady who I did my last course with,
At the moment I am using cuccio naturale products (I trained in star nails and was told by a lady at capital they had bought them out or something??) I have also used acrygel in the past.
I was just wondering whether there are any common mistakes I might be making. Trouble is working on my own there are no other therapists to pick me up on anything that could be going wrong.
Thanks a lot for replies, I need all the help I can get! lol xx

Also, they use tip and dip acrylic in the new salon, is this any easier/better to use?xx
