We are with WESTMINSTER INDEMNITY Insurance cover which our students can obtain within minutes online through their website for hair, beauty, nails, alternative therapies. What is superior about this policy is they do not charge anything extra if you keep adding to the policy whenever you go on additional courses, which saves our students a lot of money. So in the long run this is the best policy to have for hair and beauty cover.

We were with Abt insurance for accreditation for years for 99% of our courses, but we were never given a code for our students to get a discount although this was promised at the beginning perhaps this was an administrative mistake although we requested a code more than once non was forthcoming. We were also promised promotion on a list on their website but could never find this, perhaps again this was an administrative mistake we are not sure.

We got an email from Abt insurance recently saying we were no longer accredited because of a complaint. We have never received any complaint either by phone, email, post, social media, text or otherwise. When asked for a copy of this complaint nothing was forthcoming, we have never been sent a copy of any complaint, which is very strange.

Also the rules seem to have been changed with Abt without any notification in writing or otherwise ie: for courses to continue to be accredited by them the tutor must be insured by them, which was never the case in the past.

Another rule which has changed with Abt without notice is the tutor must have ptls but our tutor has ILM (city & guilds) which is a higher qualification which does not appear to be accepted now, although in the past was accepted by them without question, which is rather baffling. Our tutor has been training for 17yrs and to our knowledge non of our students have never ever made a claim against an insurance company. Over this time we have trained thousands and thousands of students.

Anyone insured with Abt need to phone them to ensure they are covered correctly because if an insurance company change its rules without notification you may not be covered for what you originally hoped for. Make sure if you are a non hairdresser but a hair extensionist you are still covered for public liability cover.

Abt may not cover you if you are a hair extensionist but do not hold a hairdressing qualificaton (fully qualified hairdresser) so you need to phone up to make sure your covered ih them for extensions. The rules for some things appear to have changed.
