Hi Everyone, I would really appreciate some advice on brushes please. I have been doing creative l&p since march this year and use a crystal touch pro styler #8, which is the brush my trainer provided me with. After watching lots of tutorials on site Ive noticed that some of the brushes that pro techs use are much bigger. Does this mean you have to upgrade your brush as you get better at application?? Is bigger better?? lol Please explain to me?? I need to buy a second brush soon as Id like to have a go with glitter, & have no idea or info on what to buy?? Many Thanks:)

use what ever brush your comfortable with, the Pro Styler is nice, you can make giant beads you can make microscopic beads, no need to upgrade to a bigger brush... but go with what you like, try lots of brushes, just always remember your mix ratio and that bigger brushes and smaller brushes will change that ratio.. I currently use the Prostyler #8 (round), the Ultra Sculptor (round) and a generic Oval #8

I love the pro styler, but too thought about a different brush, i bought the 508 ezflow brush , which is nice, but i still like the pro styler. I found that i worked wetter with the ezflow, so had to adjust my routine!:)

It's all a matter of personal preference. I use the Ultra Sculptor #10 by CND, I like a bigger brush. I used a #8 for YEARS, and started using my Ultra Sculptor(her name is Bessie btw lol) after watching an Education Ambassador use one at a trade show. I feel like I have SO MUCH more control with it, and quicker application as well.

But AGAIN, to each his own. No one brush size is better than the other, it depends on the tech. :)

I like my pro styler (master series) for smiles and my ultra sculptor for the rest..i find the latter helps my application as its weighted (if that makes sense) plus i love the flags for feathering out product..and find my ratio is spot on with it.
My pro styler...i love the corners for perfecting my smiles.
As Heather said it depends on the tech..just look at me:lol:
Whatever brush you feel comfortable with will always produce your best work.

As most have said, you certaily do not HAVE to go up a size with your brush if you are doing perfectly good work with the brush you are currently using. It doesn't make you a more 'grown up' technician just because you use a bigger brush!! :)

I certainly would not invest in a larger brush just for using glitter powders where I would think you would actually want a smaller brush for finer detailing.
