Hi all

This may sound like a bit of a stupid question but I'm gonna ask it anyways.

I am wearing sculpted gel at the moment but I only offer acrylic to my clients (I'm practising in gel to eventually do a course) but I feel like a bit of a hypocrite (wrong spelling but...) as I am wearing gel I think it may give out the wrong impression.

My question is if I file my nails down to a thin layer of gel can I put acrylic over them or should I remove the gel altogether? I am just worried that I will file them off then quit and I love my nails just now.

Thanks in advance
Angela

It will be fine to file down the gel to a thin layer then apply L&P as an overlay to what is left hth

are they the same brand? because i know that if they are then it is ok to use gel over acrylic, so in which case it should be fine.x

No as far as I'm aware ye can't put acrylic over gel but ye can put gel over acrylic!!!

If you're using a 'hard gel' (buff off) then you'll be fine to apply L+P over a thin layer of gel, the product has cured so no reaction will take place between the two products, you might have a slight difference in colour though.
If you're using a 'soft gel' (soak off) then I would advise complete removal before applying L+P.

I am using hard gels. I will file down a nail tomorrow and try it out and see what the result will be if it doesnt look right ie colour then I will know to file all off and start again

Thank you all for your comments :):)
