Advice about commission percentages.

Hello New to forum. Have a question I was going to work in a salon that has no nail person just going to do mani's and pedi's. I have to talk to the lady about commission I really dont know what to ask for I thought if we split all the products then i would do 50 50. If I have to buy product then I thought 60 40 does this seem fair or what should I ask for? never worked with commission. thank you michelle

Hi, I think if you're going to be supplying the products then a 20-25% to them is reasonable while you get the remainining 75 to 80%. If the salon will be fully responsible for the products and equipments, then a 50/50 split is reasonable. Hope this helps?

Thank you for your replay. we were thinking of splitting the cost of the products. So what commission should I ask for?
