Hi,

I have arranged for a therapist I know (did work experience with me previously) to cover treatments in my salon whilst myself and a colleague are on training for a couple of days. I have never done this before but I wont close.

I'm looking at getting her to sign a confidentiallity agreement which will cover not taking client details off the premises, promoting herself etc and also that this is in no way an offer of permanent employment etc etc. Can anyone think of anything else I may need to consider writing in?

Many thanks

Bird

What training are you going on?
Is there no way you could arrange for inhouse training - even if it meant extra cost?
Would it not be best to close for 2 days?
I would let all the clients know that you are closing on these 2 days and open the week before (& after if needed) extra hours to fit every one in.

Would she be alone in your salon or do you have a receptionist as well?

If you do get her to sign an agreement, if she broke it & stole clients etc would that mean you would sue her? x

In house training isnt offered and I dont want to close the salon for two days, its just not feasible in this day and age. She wont be on her own, our receptionist/manager will be here most of that time, the only record cards she will have access to are the ones that are pulled for her and she will have limited access to the book. She has happily signed the agreement which does state that should she be found to be removing client details, doing anything detrimental to the reputation of the salon she will be asked to leave immediately, will forfeit any monies owed and legal advice will be saught. Yes it is a risk but she is also aware that the town we live in is not that big and word gets around to other employers etc etc, plus I know she would like to work more hours for me so she would be stupid to do anything to affect that possibility.

Thanks for your comments tho :D

That is good that you have another member of staff in whilst she is in.
Looks like you have it all covered.
Enjoy your course. :)
