No you don't use normal nail polish it is acrylic actually an acrylic or water based paint safe to use on nails. Liquids through airbrushes have to have the viscosity of milt roughly, nail polishes are way too thick.

I use an air brush paint called media. I was recommended this on my training and it's always given me good results. Highly pigmented and lasts ages x
