Hey guys not sure if this is the right place to put this thread but just after some advice.
I did a course at college with beauty NVQ level 2 vtct
Including manicure/ pedicure waxing/ eyelash shaping /tinting and perming / false lashes and make up. There was supposed to be facial and spray tans but this part of the course was droPped. So would i still be nvq level 2 qualified as i have individual certificates for each of my qualifications and am looking for work but not sure if im eligable to apply for level 2 qualified. Although all my certificates are level 2 ahh.Sorry to seem dense im jut a little unsure AS 2 wHere i stand to my qualifiaction now. And wether i need facial and spray tanning still to be nvq level 2:rolleyes:

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong  but I think that individual components don't make a level 2 qualification, there will be a minimum requirement before you can achieve the full qualification. I assume you have never been awarded an NVQ2 certificate? If not then I would suggest that you are not qualified.

However you ought to contact your college and find out if you can add the facial elements to your existing ones. Any salon advertising for a level2 therapist will expect you to be able to perform facials and have knowledge of the skin.

Hi
Ive got level 2 VTCT as well with all you did and facials besides. I have a certificate of unit accreditation which shows the units I did but also a certificate that says I hold the NVQ level 2 beauty therapy(general route). If you dont have the 2nd certificate then I would have thought it wasnt a full level 2.

That would be a shame because the only thing you didnt do that I did was the facials(I presume you did G1, G4 and G6).

If you look at the front of your VTCT assessment book it should tell you how many units you need to take to qualify for the full qual and states the mandatory units and optional units expected.

If you haven't got the full qual and the course you took stated it was the level 2 when you first started I would approach the college for the remaining unit(s) to bring your training to that standard-chances are they now do the facials etc. It will be worth it!!! Good Luck
