Hi!

Shame you didn’t get a response to this as I have the same/similar question! Did you decide to do either treatment?

I was going to do the hd course but also found it very expensive - I personally think wax and tint can do a fairly good job on the brows & with the hd they have to buy a powder to fill them in - which I’d assume u wouldn’t have needed to do paying the extra for it!!! Microblading seems popular but again expensive to train in & u have to charge a lot of money per client - so question is, do u have the clientele to counteract that and make back ur money?
I have 2 clients who got it done & I still tint there eyebrows on a regular 2-3 week basis and they pencil in their brows everyday!!!!!
Hope this helps my dear xo

I've been doing hd brows for just over 5 years, it's definitely not as popular for me now, most places offer a good tint and shape now so it's harder to compete, I also do microblading and find this really popular, 50% of my microblading clients still come back to me every 4 weeks for a tint and tidy.

I was trained in HD through the salon I worked at and I didn't like it. I thought it was over priced and most of our clients only wanted a tint and wax and didn't want all the extras. I felt bad charging clients for the treatment as thought it was over priced and you're just paying for the name. I guess some areas in the UK people really go for that and buy into the name and the brand but for me I didn't think it was worth it. A lot of people I know have micro blading, the training is very expensive but you charge a good price once you're qualified so you may get that money back. If you want to specialise in eyebrows then I'd have thought microblading would be a good option. Good luck deciding:)

I get the feeling that HD has had its time. A lot of training places offer their own version for a fraction of the cost. I am near to the end of my microblading course and the eyebrow mapping element has really helped me with a new perspective on eyebrow shaping. I have already been doing waxing, tinting and threading for years so paying for the brand is unnecessary. If you opt for microblading please choose a course that is longer than a few days. It is not possible to be competent or work on clients in such a short time. Always ask to see the trainers work and check hygiene standards.

I was going to train with HD but the price was putting me off and other requirements they insisted I had to have, so ended up training with Amita Patel the former co founder of HD. She has left and now does a non brand specific course, it really help transform my shaping technique, helped massively mapping brows for microblading too x

Hi there, I'd love to know who you trained with with regards to Micro blading? I'm looking for a course that is thorough and will really teach me the art of the treatment so that I'm confident enough to continue to practice and eventually work with paying clients. Thanks in advance!
