It's me again, sorry!
I'm starting my L3 hairdressing In September at college (think I've made my mind up on that!) would it sound abit strange if I posted on my local Facebook pages asking for either a placement for half a day or full day a week or for paid work? I often see the 16/17 year olds asking for jobs on them but I'm alot older and worrying incase I will sound daft lol.

You should hand in a letter to the manager personally - Looks much more professional than posting on facebook!:)

I agree with Tiara, as an ex salon owner I've seen, received , and still see, posts on fb or inbox message like....I need an apprenticeship has n e one.any?.... Or ... Need a placement, anyone know anyone looking....

I cringe!! First impressions count!! Everytime!! I've also had girls walk in with their mates wearing next to nothing asking....got any jobs please......

Get yourself dressed accordingly, CV's and covering letters in hand and walk into places.

Good luck

I wouldn't mind a private facebook message, structured like a letter, but not just a post on my page.

Thank you everyone :)
