Hi Geeks, I have just finnished the second set on a client, she told me that her nails ( sculpted L&P ) had lifted and were coming off a few days after I did her last set. During her consultation we went through any meds/ illnesses that may affect it, and there were none. When she mentioned this I ran through things again, she works in the same place as another client and said that her nails, that were two weeks old were absolutely fine, so while fishing for what the problem might be she mentioned that she has a low platelet count, and that she suffers from bad circulation. She does homers as a hairdresser at nights and said that sometimes it is so bad she has to heat her hands up with the hairdrier as she can't feel them and drops the comb, I have done a search as I am sure I remember something about this maybe affecting the way the enhancements adhere to the nail, and was after a bit advise from you, any help much appreciated xx ruth

I don't know if it's relevant...
But I have Raynaud's Disease.
Hyper sensitive to the cold (cold is PAINFUL, not just uncomfortable) and my hands turn blue and I have to warm mine up often this time of year (under taps of warm water...)
Yet, my enhancements stick on me with no problem, no matter what kind.

However.. I 'think' it might be possible that the body temperature of the client might affect the setting time of L&P? So perhaps takes longer to 'set' fully if her hands are cold? Maybe if it's filed before fully set, weakens the adhesion?

Just a shot in the dark. I don't rightly know for certain, and I'm new to L&P.

I wonder if the low platelet count doesn't affect the type of surface her nail plate has, since her matrix is fed by blood, thereby changing the nail itself......??
Also, what products does she use as a hairdresser? Does she do extensions? Does she ever wear gloves?

Products used to remove extensions are known to cause issue as they contain acetone and other what-not's.

Just some other thoughts...

thankyou!! will look into that x
