Hello!

I was wondering how's it going in other countries... I mean how long is basic course, what kind of subjects do you hav, or how does this work at your place?
I live in Hungary and we have our graduation after 4-6 months. We take lessons 2 times a week 6 hour each time. You have to know if you want to be a nail tehnician here you have to learn to do manicure, artificial nails AND pedicure too.
So please tell me about your experiences and how do you get to a another level each time.
Thank you!

Here in New Zealand you don't have to have any formal education to work as a Nail Tech.
We have an organisation called The New Zealand Qualifications Authority who issue Unit Standards, which grouped together give you a certificate in a certain feild. They go from level 1-8 or something, and the Nail Tech qualification is Level 4, but there are not many institutes who offer it.
It is mainly to do with health and safety, nail structure, cells, tissues etc etc.
I think you are better off going straight to a product company and getting education from them.

In Hungary not all the product companies gives full education. Some of them only offer drill using classes or Nail Art classes. We have about 10 companies on the market.
I had some extra classes about Nail Art and competion nails, which increased my salon work.
By the way...how muc is this education at New Zealand?
Here it's around 1300 USD.

Thanks!:)

Hello again.
1300 USD converted into NZD is around $2470 (just to give an idea of the conversion of our costs)
For the course I did (which all turned out a bit messy and I didnt get the certificates I was promised) it cost me around $3500 NZD (1840 USD) and that was 1 day a week for a year.
Im not to sure about how much a foundation course with a product educator costs here, but I know its about $500 NZD (260 USD) for an upskilling course.

I live in Canada and although in Quebec (where I live)no formal training is required to become a tech, I took a 3 month long course (for about $1000 Cnd) which was sectioned off into 7 parts (basic pre-med course, safety and hygiene, natural manicures, pedicures, wraps and resins, acrylics, and UV gel).

You can also get advanced skill training courses which generally run 2 to 4 days and are usually around $600 to $1000cnd for those workshops.

Thanks for the information, I see it's like the same as here. Except for the skill trainings, those are much cheaper here, of course there is a limit in knowledge and after a while, you can only learn new skills if you go to a foreign teacher.

Thanks again!:)
