I'm not really feeling the size of these bonds, they're quite chunky looking.

I guess the bonus is that they're completely flat. The machine forms the bond for you so you're not forming anything yourself. Cold fusion wise I'm only trained with WH so these are all I know! They are nice & discreet though when placed properly x

Wouldn't the machine still form the bond if you trimmed them as they do look very bulky. Personally I think you can get a beater cold fusion bond using a loof cold fusion

I agree, they look quite thick as well as long though. I'm not sure what the hype with flat bonds are, I'd rather have tiny rolled bonds than huge bulky flat ones.

Hi, i completed a hair extensions course at the end of August and this is my first time posting so please don't be too harsh but id like some constructive criticism.
These were done a friend who has completed the same course as me, she bought her own hair so im not entirely sure on how many strands but i do know they are 0.5g.
I have also noticed from looking at alot of the before and after pics that no gap is left between the rows. I was taught to leave half a combs width between rows so now im a little confused as to which is the better way x

With regards to leaving rows... This is something you'll change as you become more experienced. It depends on the client, for me, I generally keep the first 3/4 rows (if I'm doing bonds or micro rings) together, and then start leaving gaps as I move up the head. Sometimes if the client has very thick hair and wants a full look, I will do row upon row and leave no gaps. Obviously you can fit more hair in this way giving a fuller, thicker look. If I'm doing half a head, I do leave gaps all the way around the head.
But like I said, once you become experienced, you'll find your own way of doing it.

This isn't bad for your first set, I haven't got much to critique. I wouldn't work with 0.5g strands though, and I wouldn't leave so many gaps, I'd work on your styling for the after photo, and also your blending as I can see her own hair sitting ontop of the extensions. It would be good if you could share a photo of your sectioning. But not bad at all, a lot better than half the stuff on here 😄

Thank you for your comments. The hair i will be ordering in for clients is 1g so im looking forward to having a go and working with this. The course i completed was a 1 day course and VERY basic with regards to finishing and cutting/blending. Im hoping to enrol on a Hairdressing NVQ L2 course next September.
