hi im a student at college studying nvq level 2 hair and i was just wondering which is the best way to get dark brown hair light brown? i was thinking a mild bleach mixture or something? help please

Hi there.
If the hair is a natural dark brown, say a base 3 or 4. You can just tint it a shade or two lighter.
Find out what the clients natural base colour is using the shade chart.
Then decide how many shades lighter you want to go.
However, if the clients hair is already tinted a dark brown, you will not be able to lighten it, because tint will not lift tint. You will then have to pre-lighten the hair or erase the color first before you apply your desired colour.
Also, another point to remember. If the clients already tinted hair is extremely faded, it can then sometimes be possible to go a shade lighter.
If you are unsure of anything, I'm sure your tutors will explain more clearly than me.
