Best place to advertise

Hope you all doing well.
I would like to know from your experiences - where is the best place to advertise your services or your salon? If magazines then which and why, or maybe there are some great websites out there? And which places are definite "no no" to advertise with.

I have had so much business from people stopping me and asking where i get my nails done, when i say i do them myself-heres a card they are really amazed and often ring for an appt! xx

Hi, I went on a marketing course prior to starting my own business and was advised to give clients say £5 off of their next 'full set' if they successfully recommended a new client. Give them some of your cards so that when they are out and about, they can pass on your details. This really does work and 80% of my business came this way. Good luck. x

Im mobile and advertise in the thomson local. Also i keep my postcards with my price list on the back and if i arrive early for a client or have time 2 spare afterwards i post them through doors. This is a bit of time comsuming way of advertising but it does work and is probrally the most cost effective way to advertise out of the things i do. Also if you have any teenage family members give them some extra pocket money to deliver for you! i get my postcards and business cards called vista print, i think they are nice and they are really cheap andfrom a company always email you after you order saying '100 postcards free!' then you just have 2 pay vat and postage i always wait now and order a 100 at a time works out about 6 quid! hope this helps!
