Hi ladies,

Due to de-icing her car my friend has broke her nail [emoji31] she said it was bleeding at first but has now stopped and it's painful. I've looked around the site and know not to touch it (acetone, filing etc) but after she's sent me a pic the end of her nail is still on but the acrylic from the nail bed has pinged off.

From this picture, should I just wrap a plaster over it completely and wait for the pain to stop before I repair, or should I put some sort of anti-biotic cream on the nail first then wrap it?

Any advice is appreciated! [emoji21]

I wouldn't bother with cream, I'd leave it until the pain wears off, check for fresh bleeding. If no bleeding or weeping I'd cover with a clear overlay to protect it for a week or so, then soak off and review.
