Hiya Geeks,

I don't do body massage, just wanted to pick your braines.

I am trying to get hubby into looking after himself, so lately i have treated him to a few besyty treatments in a new male grooming salon that's opened near my home.

FULL BODY MASSAGE
His first massage was completely draining, and he did'nt want to do anything for the rest of the day
his second massgae was with a different therapist, he said he felt tired but relaxed. Not drained.

What should he feel like and what should you expect from a professional body/sport massage

Thanks for your advise

If he has a lot of stagnant energy (tension, stress, aches and pains) then the massage would effectively shift that energy leaving your hub feeling tired and drained. Its called a healing crisis or healing response and its the toxins exiting the body, if he drinks plenty of water before and after the treatment, this actually assists the toxins to exit the body more efficiently, through urine and sweat glands.

The second treatment wouldn't have been as draining as he'd already shifted a lot.

But, you mentioned that he had 2 different therapists. By any chance was the first therapist a bit depressed or a bit down, as your husband could have picked up on their stagnant energy.

I would go with the first scenario first though. The best thing is that by the time he has his 3rd treatment, he will probably sail through it with no adverse reaction to the treatment.

My husband loves having a body massage and now has them twice a week from me ,he wasn't very well recently and after getting better and the all clear from our GP he had alot of tension build up,aches and pains and lacked energy . After performing a massage it shifted that stagnant energy and left him feeling a bit tired and physically drained. As hippychic has beat me to this post lol ..i'm saying the same as she has

Its called the healing crisis and healing process and its the toxins exiting the body, this expains the tierdness as the lymph fluid has also been worked out of the muscles, drinking plenty of water before and after the treatment, keeps him hydrated and aids in helping the toxins to exit the body more efficiently it also exits through urine and sweat glands.

hence after the second massage he had ..it wouldn't have been as draining as he'd already shifted a lot.

he had 2 different therapists massaging him , the first therapist probably was a bit depressed or a bit worn out\ down with fatigue, that could explain your husband's lack of energy ,muscle fatigue and mobility the first time and the relaxed energy from picking up on energy levels from the second therapist.

when i massage a client even my husband i have to do some energy & chakra balancing as i sometimes i pick up on negative energy from clients and they get my positive energy(not good for me as it drains me)

i agree with hippychic about going with the first scenario first as by the time he has his 3rd treatment, he will probably sail through it with no adverse reaction to the treatment.

Massage and the healing power of touch also does wonders for your health ,skin and self confidence and self esteem it also helps to promote a healthy mind.

The other thing to check is what are they using to massage him. If they are using essential oils for relaxation, this could be what's having an effect. I mostly use oils that are stimulating because otherwise clients will just want to go straight to bed for a sleep.
