Hi all,

First of all Yayayayayyay!! I'm all booked on to a course to start in January and learn this awesome trade that you all talk of. Will take me a while to qualify and a lot of practice from what I gather, but I can't wait. I hope it's gonna be pretty rewarding to do a great looking set of nails!! woooooo wooo. Anywho, is there anything I can do before the course to get ahead? Any books you can recommend? It's the OPI course I'm booked on....

Also - boooooo coz I've been having biogel on my nails (done by nails inc in a debenhams) and they've been so cr@p the last few times. This time all my own nails have split at the sides, causing the gel to lift and stuff to get inbetween my nail and the gel. I've taken the gel off myself because i needed to cut the nail - they were breaking so far down it would have been nasty if they'd caught on something!! (sorry for the lack of proper technical terms!). Soooo I won't be going back to Debenhams. Should my nails have been very flexible with the gel on? I've always had flexible/soft nails and with biogel on I thought they'd of been a bit stronger. The girl that did them didn't really seem to know what else she could do. I know it's my fault that I took them off, but should they of split down the sides?

Ooooo I'm so excited to be becoming a part of all this nail malarkey!!

Thanks valencia.... i've ordered the book by marian. I can't afford both at the moment! And the one by Marian has such a pretty cover!! And I won't start trying to 'do' nails. Saying that, I'm still going to carry on painting my own.... hopefully that won't hinder me too much....

Any other suggestions welcome re the book - and the biosculpture malarkey!

You'll be fine by carrying on polishing your nails

No idea re the Bio problem, but I've changed the title of your thread to draw the attention of our Bio techs :D

Diamond, thanks sandi

Hi. If the correct prep and gels were used you should not have experienced any damage to your natural nail with Bio Sculpture. Perhaps the therapists weren't Bio trained and were just using it without fully understanding the system. Try and find an authorised Bio Tech in your area by contacting Head Office and I'm sure you'll be impressed with the difference. HTH.:)

Ta cookie. Will check on their website. Snakies! :D
