Hi im doing the callus foot peel treatment on a client that has very dry skin so im going to leave the skin softening patches on for at least 30mins thats all shes having done as a treatment on its own, so instead of staying there on my pedicure stool for half an hour looking at my clients face lol i am going to leave her for half an hour to relax ask if she wants a cup of tea and mags during the time then come back to finish the treatment do you think this will be ok what does everyone else do during this time?
i only have a small room so i think its better if i do that

half hour is a long time to sit twiddling your thumbs.
I would use the time to introduce her to another service, which she may love so much she has it done reguarly.
manicure, facial, shoulder + hand + arm massage can all be done while she's 'putting her feet up' so to speak.

You could even do it for free the first time, and then say to her it will be an additional £5, £7, £10 (however much) next time. But realy, you should be charging hwr for half hour of your time anyway, as you cant get on with other treatments while she is there, so it shouldnt make much diff to you as she is paying for the time. if u get me?!
I did an eye treatment on a client last week, and while the mask was on i shaped and french polished her nails, she absolutely loveed it!! I wouldnt tell her what i was doing, so the 'colour' was a suprise to her lol. but she was really so pleased, it made me remember what i went into this career for!!! :D

hey layla

have you thought about offering maybe a hand massage or something like that?? that is what i tend to do when i have a gap in the treatment.:green:

xxxxxxxx

hand and arm massage is a good idea except the way my room is set up for a pedicure would make it diffucult as i have a pedicure foot stool which the client places her foot on one end and i sit on the other, for manicures i have to wheel the nail desk over as i do it in different rooms

do it all on the couch, you can use mitts to 'wash' her feet afterwards. you dont need a foot spa for the callus peel do you?

i do my pedicure up on the couch anyway, people find it more comfy to sit on there, wth their knees bent up and feet in the spa, while the spa is n the end of the couch.
