Hi geeks,

I've just started renting a nail bar and beauty room,I want to start offering spray tans as I've been doing them for last 2 years, the thing is I have no certificate to say I can do them as I was trained by my previous employer in shop,

Now can I still go ahead and start tanning people or will I have to get some kinda certificate 1st before I do..

Any help appreciated,

Now that you have just said that I was trained wih st tropez a trainer came to our salon and we never had a certificate.

Say alot of people have been trained this way, hopefully will work out

When I asked this same question this is what I was told: Most states do not require a certification. That said, some do. The easiest way to find out if you need to be certified before you begin is to go to your local board of cosmetology. They should be able to tell you. I checked with my state, they did not require it, although eventually all states will. I decided to get mine anyway and I am glad I did, as several customers have asked about it. I got mine from EnvyTan. It is nationwide so I can use it anywhere in the country. It was an online course that took about 3 hours to complete. I took a test and they sent me a certification. This sounds like it is exactly what you are looking for. i hope this helps you out.
