Can you apply gel over nail polish

hi could anyone tell me if you can apply gel over nail polish or between layers of gel?? normally i just apply polish over the finished cured gel nails but a client asked me if i ever put the polish under the gel to last longer.

EzFlow have a product called speed finish for use over enamel. UV30 isn't recommended over polish.
A decent topcoat should last 2 weeks between appointments I've been using Creative super shiney with no probs.

nsi do a product called thermoshield which is specificly used for nail polish.x

Star Nails Gel Top Coat has worked brill for me, think you can just get it from sallys x
