As the Clinical and Training Manager at Chromogenex can I suggest that you contact the company direct to discuss your individual training requirements as these are based on a variety of factors including whether your clinic has opted to attend one of our longer duration centralised training courses at our training centre in the Midlands or to have the training in-house.
Candidate competence to use an Intense Pulsed Light (the Chromolite is not a laser) is assessed very closely using both exam questions and practical assessment against a 47 point competency criteria (which includes the Core of Knowledge, Treatment Theory, Treatment Protocols, Health & Safety and practical handling of the device and clients). Should a candidate not provide the required evidence for competency at that time they would not be certificated and a further training plan for that candidate would be advised.
The course content and candidate notes are also forwarded to the clinics prior to the training days to give the candidates a chance to familerise themselves with the content and to brush up on any of their background knowledge of skin anatomy and hair growth physiology which they are expected to know prior to embarking upon training with any IPL or Laser system.
If you are concerned that the single day training is not going to be enough for your particular needs, I would advise contacting Chromogenex to discuss the options of training dates at the training centre, as we do not want you to end up feeling uncomfortable and unprepared to embark upon the world of Intense Pulsed Light treatments.
