Cleansing lash infills?

Hi
Is it a good idea to cleanse my clients lashes with baby shampoo/water mixture before performing infills on her? Or will this affect the application?

Another question I have is when doing an Infill procedure, do I remove the mascara or attempt to work with it? I haven't yet come across a client who's worn mascara for infills yet.

I'm such a novice so replies will be appreciated

I tell my clients that I will not do an infill if they have applied mascara, for one they should not need to and two, if it is not all removed then you are applying new lashes onto mascara coated lashes therefore your infill will not last and they will blame you.
I also don't clean there lashes first when infilling.
