Clients leaving you speechless

So this isnt really much of a question it just happened and I had to tell somebody lol

So I was doing a clients tan, during which she said 'now is this going to be dark??' I told her to leave it on overnight and it will be dark 'but you won't be like -' at this point I was about to say a mahogany table and she chimes in and finishes my sentence with 'like a n*gger' now Ive NEVER said that word and ive never actually heard anyone say it in person before let alone so casually. I just kind of stood there for a second shocked and then didn't say anything and carried on spraying. She was a young girl not an older woman. I think I'm still in shock

This happened to me yesterday, I had a new client for a cut and I previously did her daughters hair. She was telling me that her daughter has a twin brother... I asked if they was identical (more meaning do they look alike) she answered with me with 'well no because he has a willy' I just did an awkward laugh I thought it was a really weird thing to say

I've heard a few people say about tanning that they don't want to look like a 'p*ki. I don't know what to say as I want to tell them it's not ok but I don't think it will change their attitude and it will make them angry. Shocking

I'd not respond verbally (I'd also be speechless, and agree with Krum that even if you did say something, it wouldn't change their attitude) though I doubt I could avoid raising my eyebrows...I'd try to avoid ever re-booking them though.

Hell I could write a book of inappropriate client chat !! I had a (regular) client last week telling me about a male friend she'd just found out was gay..... homophobic is an understatement ! Some of the stuff she was coming out with was unbelievable. So offensive. I've also had racist comments, really bad language (and I'm pretty unshockable!), and intimate details of sex lives. I take it all with a pinch of salt & bite my tongue. And think how lucky I am that these people are paying clients, not friends At least my job's never boring! I'm not sure if there is a point I'd speak out.... people are entitled to their opinions (however ignorant or offensive they are to me) and I'm there to provide a beauty service.... not a sermon on what's politically correct or acceptable. I think you need to be thick skinned (and sometimes deaf !) in this job. x

I said we did and she asked why I don't have them, I said I love the look but couldn't stand not being able to wash my eye make up off properly.

She then spent the next ten mins (luckily the phone rang at that point) telling me if I got them I would be a millionaire and I'm stupid for not having them, and that I would be richer than Lauren Pope if I had them ?!? Lol. When I said "oh ok, well I'm ok doing what I'm doing now thanks she then said "ooh I see, you don't like rich people! what is it you don't like about them? if you had eyelash extensions you would be richer than them" I didn't know what else to say to that and the phone luckily rang and she left.

How lash extensions, Lauren Pope and me apparently not liking rich people came together I've no idea. Lol

I'm glad I'm not alone! There was actually a woman in having her hair done and was reading a magazine and came to an article about Caitlyn Jenner, well she launched into a rant about how it was disgusting complete with shoulder shuddering and squirming faces. She's a regular and a lovely woman and I really didn't expect it from her.

Omg,this was like how last week at work these two African American ladies came in said the white girls could not possibly know how to do their hair and then said pointed to me , (I'm mixed, Spanish and African American ) am not "black enough to do their hair and promptly walked out! Some people are so rude!

When I started working in a salon I was the only employee that wasn't a johovaa witness it didn't bother me in the slightest my Aunty is a witness and it still wouldn't bother me either way but the girls didn't tell me incase it did, I found out from the diary saying they had assembly and never brought it up because it was irrelevant in my opinion! Well the first client of the day didn't agree and kept bringing it up that their kind ruin Xmas for children I was in shock and still to this day have no idea how the other girl sat and took it! I always thought to myself if the client has such an issue with 'their kind' why come to a complete witness salon!?! People are just shocking!

Maybe it's because I'm older and self employed, but I'd have no problem showing clients expressing unpleasant (rascist/religious or homophobic) views, the door. (I barely tolerate Tory's, lol)

I'd perhaps finish the service first but I wouldn't book them in again and I'd be quite clear why.

We have one client who discusses her sexual escapades with us whilst having a Hollywood wax! To say it is an inappropriate moment & conversation to have in general is an understatement but unfortunately ladies what happens in the treatment room has to stay in there! We don't have to agree with our clients opinions on things & there will always be those people who seem to think that because we do the job we do & have a code of silence they can say anything they like!

You CAN have identical girl & boy twins. They are rare but do exist.

Monozygotic twins are genetically identical unless there has been a mutation in development, and they are almost always the same gender. (On extremely rare occasions, an original XXY zygote may form monozygotic boy/girl twins by dropping the Y chromosome for one twin and the extra X chromosome for the other.) Monozygotic twins generally look alike, although sometimes they appear as mirror images of each other. Identical twins will also share the same blood type, eye and hair colour.

I think I just wasn't expecting her to say 'willy' lol especially someone you only met about 15 minutes ago! I get what you mean though, I suppose she's very casual about her vocabulary lol
