Hi Geeks this is my first post here after years of just watching! Just after a bit of advice on CND training.

I am qualified in NVQ level 2 & 3 in Beauty Therapy which included the basics in L&P and Gel using Nsi. When I finished college and got my first job in a salon my L&P enhancements were obviously no where near up to scratch and one of my colleagues a brill nail tech helped me get my enhancements up to a good standard and I did a hell of a lot of practising on anyone I could get my hands on!

While working at this salon I completed the CND conversion course in 2009 in the Manchester academy, the salon then decided that they weren't going to use CND products for enhancements and were going to stick with their current brand (not sure why think the current products were cheaper ) In this job I mostly did semi permanent lashes as that is what we specialised in.

Fast forward four years and I have just started a new job and when asked what brands I would like to use in the salon straightaway I said CND Retention for L&P for enhancements:) I loved the products when I was on the course so much better than the brand I was previously using in my old job.

Basically I have been in my new job around 2 months now and I am having some trouble with lifting on nails. I feel I can produce a good set of L&P enhancements but they are lifting around a week after  Nails have never really been my 'thing' as I have specialised in semi permanent lashes the last four years and nails were not as popular in my old job although I did still do them just not day in day out. I feel my mix ratio is a bit off and have watched so many youtube videos to see if I can pin point anything but it hasn't really helped. 'Acrylic' nails are very popular in my new salon so I really need to sort this issue out soon.

So what could you Geeks suggest? As I've said I have done the CND conversion course way back in 2009 so perhaps I should re do this course?
There is also the Lift Prevention course has anyone done this?
I have also seen the one to one training which I am leaning towards.
Also do I ring Sweetsquared or the actual academy to book? My previous CND courses were booked by my employer.

I will be ringing first thing in the morning for more info but just wanted a bit of advice first on what you geeks think on my situation what would you do? I have buried my head in the sand for the last few weeks now over this, I was even too scared to write on here! xx

Well good for you for making your first steps in doing something about it. I wish you well I really do. If I were in your situation I would probably do the same as you are suggesting. Definitely a refresher is in order. I think a conversion would cover it. Also then you will establish links with an ambassador who can offer you continual support should you need it. Yep, ringing Sweet Squared tomorrow would get you rolling properly. Regarding lifting, many factors do cause lifting as you probably know. Double check your PREP is bang on! I've found (in my personal experience) that thorough PREP made the biggest difference to lifting with gel and L +p. Good luck, keep us posted Wendy

Thank you wendywoo so much for your reply. I actually feel so much better after posting like I've got it all off my chest! Thanks for the advice yes I feel my prep could be better I always seem to rush this part as I start panicing on timing etc. so I think that will help with my lifting issues. I will definitely phone Sweetsquared in the morning and hopefully will be on a course soon :)

Hey, sorry to butt in but how do you get registered with sweet squared?

Email or fax your certificates over to them x

annabel, i would definitely do some 121 as you have already been using the product and not sure where you are going wrong so a 121 will be great for this. I did a 121 recently before i did my masters and it was great. I got to focus on what i wanted plus managed to do a few extra bits on the day.

Leanne, ring sweet squared, the no is in their website andspeak to someone then you will need to email your certificates across to themx

Thank you souz for taking the time to reply, I always enjoy reading your posts and advice on here! Yes I am considering the one to one training, I like the idea of it being one to one and really focus on where I'm going wrong and I think I've got into some bad habits which need rectifying! I just hope I can get this sorted soon as I know they are very sought after and get booked up in advance! But I know it will be worth the wait :)

not a problem hun and thank you,

you wont regret the 121 hun, L+P was my enemy for years and after my 121 its soon become a favourite of mine. I have my ratio sorted, my placement of bead and how i hold my brush. It doesnt matter how many videos you watch we simply cant see our own mistakes and need someone else to see them for us. It will be a day that changes everything for you, trust me xx and good luck....dont forget to let us know how you get onx
