I’ve used 7/1 semi with 3% root smudge on natural hair and it’s got a gold glow to it. Any advice please

Can you give more detail please?
What was your starting point? Was it coloured before hand? What base level where you? And what were you trying to achieve?

Thanks for replying it’s virgin hair it was a base of a 7. I was trying to achieve a root smudge to take off the line of the highlights
