Colour over Gelish Structure Gel

I have a client who normally has nno's with gel polish on top but at her last appointment (this morning) she couldn't decide on a colour so opted for just the clear overlays. Then she asked if she was to change her mind in a few days and wanted a colour put on could it be done? I replied yes assuming it could be done but I've never actually done this before so I just want to run my thoughts past you more experienced techs.
So if she should return for a colour I would buff the gel top coat to remove the shine, cleanse the surface and then go straight in with two colour coats and finish with Top it Off
Does that sound right?

Sounds good to me but I've just put colour straight in the top and then used tio over the top. X

Yes as you said. Take off the shine, cleanse, colour coats then top it off x

Thanks girls. It was just a confidence issue. If she does return I now don't have to worry about doing the right/wrong thing x
