Hi

I know coloured gels are meant to act as a semi-permanent 'polish'. But if they were used over a natural nail, would they provide a little extra strength and protection?

I have a regular manicure client who is quite tough on her nails and as ar esult he polish often doesn't last too long. (her job is very hard on her hands.) I'm just wondering if coloured gel would be a better option?

Thank you for any wisdom you can bestowe x:hug:

It depends on the coloured gel and how flexible it is as to whether or not it will chip or how much protection it will add for the natural nail.

You can't lump all coloured gels together as some differ. I think it is fairly well attested to that Bio or Calgel do add protection and some strength to the natural nail but i would not say that all of them do so in the same degree.

thanks for that geeg.

Maybe i should just try it and see then? It can't hurt to suggest something that may improve the longevity of her polish.

Absolutely .. I think most clients are more than willing to experiment with you to find things that work for them. It builds trust and a good relationship which is worth more than you know.
